Need clarification on a couple things :)

Mongoose
1) Are the Shadows and Technicals purchased individually or as a squad of 3?
ie: If I buy 3 Shadows, does it cost me a total of 70 or 210 points?

2) When distributing damage dice, obviously 1's are discarded, but are normal misses allocated for calculating supression or only potential hits?

The example on page 17 seems to indicate misses are simply discarded and only potential hits are allocated.
However, on page 19, a die roll of 3 has been allocated to one of the british infantry even though their target number is 4.

Thanks in advance

1. Bought one at a time for 70 each. Up to 2 per slot. You buy both it would be 140pts.

2. Discard the ones, the rest of the dice are applied and will count toward suppression even if they are misses.

In reality any dice that doesn't hit a kill or a target does not need to be allocated (just count them all up for suppression), except in certain situations. These are when you are firing a round that does explosion damage as well as its shooting attack, when you are firing these rounds you need to allocate every round untill you get to the one for the "RPG", as once this is allocated you then work out its explosion radius centered on the model it was allocated to.

For example, I am shooting 3 rifles, and 1 RPG, at 5 infantry models (in the open). With the rifles I roll 6, 4 and 3, with the RPG I roll 2 on my D10. You allocated the 6 (kill) to the closest model, then the 4 to the 2nd closest, normaly at this point we wouldn't bother allocating the 3, but because we also have an RPG you allocate the 3 to the 3rd closest. Now you allocate the RPG to the 4th closest model, and work out who gets hit by the explosion, and roll DD for each of those models, inculding the model that had the RPG allocated to him. On a side note, if the RPG rolls a 1 then it is discarded and doesn't get to roll an explosion as it missed by a country mile or was a dud or whatever.

P.S. If the RPG had rolled a 6, the same as one (or more) of the rifles, the shooting player gets to choose which he allocates 1st the rifle shot or the RPG round.

Also, you should alocate all dice that aren't ones when there are models from more than one unit within the fire zone, as that will affect the likelihood of suppression.

Awesome, thanks for the clarification :)
Those are the only questions that came up after our first game. I'm sure there will be more as we continue playing :P

Thanks again.

Damn I knew had missed one (at least) but couldn't remember that it was.

Ask away, we might be a bit crotchey at times about some questions, but we will try and help. Oh and we will dirift miles off the topic on a regular basis, but hey thats something you will just have to learn to live with and maybe love 8)
