NA Boarding actions on carriers

It's not uncommon for a boarding action to capture a carrier while it has fighters still in the hangers (often because the fighters are returning "casualties" that survived by a "carrier trait" saving throw, which immediately lands them on the closest carrier). Which of the following happens to these fighters?

A) Captured along with the ship? If so, it's the only way to capture fighters, and raises the question of how many VP the capture is worth (full, like a destroyed fighter? more?).

B) Sabotaged by their pilots and counted as destroyed? The pilots aren't a bunch a helpless peons in pressure bags, and shouldn't have to automatically yield to boarders.

C) Remain under the control of the original owner? In which case, can they blow open the hanger doors and launch at the next opportunity? Can they sit on the launch deck and fire into the guts of the captured ship?

Seems like B is the simplest solution, although A isn't too bad either. C is a nightmarish snakepit of rules questions and special cases worthy of Star Fleet Battles.
