NA: Asteroids, Facings & Fire Arcs

Ok, some questions.

How do you judge turn radii (radiuses?) and firing arcs? Do you just hold a template over the approximate center of the ship and eyeball it, or is there some more accurate technique?

What about asteroid fields? How do you know if you're "in" one since it's just a collection of rocks on the table? Can you move through them or on them? Do you just push them out of the way, or what?

Thanks.

Get the template as close as you can to above the peg of the stand.

If the arc is in doubt, hold the template and get your opponent to extend the arc with a straight edge such as your tape, a piece of paper, the rulebook....

The edge needs marking in some way. We use printed asteroid templates. You might want to place your rocks on a piece of black paper. If they have stands, use the stands to denote the edges of the fields.

And yes, move the rocks out of the way to allow ships to pass. The ship is evading the asteroids, even if the model is moving in a straight line!
