My Minbari Blog...

Court Jester

Mongoose
Having finished the bulk of my Earth Alliance fleet I thought it was time to start on another fleet even though I have a couple of Marathons and Hermes to finish...

I wanted my Minbari ships to really stand out on the table so Iuse fairly basic block highlights that were quick to apply but when you are standing at the gaming table it should really look the part.

With this Sharlin I was missing several of the gun sprues but I had already made the choice to leave off the beam gun at the front of the ship, and the rear guns can easily be added on at a later date.

As with my EA fleet I decided to make my colour scheme different to the cannon story. Although in this case it was not such a major shift as the ships will still be blue.

I have a couple or Tagara/Leshath to paint up as well as 2 Tinashi and all relevant fighters. This is enough to tackle my current Earth fleet.

I have also noticed a blemish on the base which will be fixed soon enough.

Very crisp and precise highlighting and blending work there, it's an excellent paint job!

Also LOL at the poor Omega comment :)

Wow! Now THAT is highlighting.

I am no good at that detail stuff cause I don't know the science of "blending". You, sir, have no issues.

Well... the "poor Omega" comment kind of came true... In the game we played today (I was teaching a mate how to play and he was using the Minbari...)

The Omega took relativley light damage but 2 critical hits... So its engines were damaged reducing speed to zero... no problem says I... I can repair that... second critical hit... Bridge destroyed... no Damage control...

DOH!

It was finally picked off by Minbari ships hovering just outside of its range pouring Neutron Laser fire into it...

It was a fun game even if the poor EA were slaughtered...

Such a pretty Omega, destroyed before its time by a beautiful Sharlin...
Stupid Boneheads. Can't appreciate anything that isn't painted Aqua BLUE.

Those look amazing. :)

I love the blending affect, it really is eye popping. All too often people go with darker colors in space based games, but these beauties really would be something that catch your eye from across the room.

I've always been a little partial to vibrant color schemes.

I have also started tinkering about with my own record sheets for my fleets... NOthing new or inovative, but I like to mess about with things like this... Think of it as a "layout" challenge...
