My attempt to add detail to USMC miniatures.

Still a work in progress.

On the left is standard USMC trooper and on the right is one with my added details. Added ammo pouches made of GW green stuff and painted more brown dots to give cammo a digital look. Added highlights on gun and ink wash on face.

Added hydration pack (a MUST for any modern western soldier) and combat knife.

I still need to paint the pouches, water pack and knife.

Not too shabby on the sculpting. Definitely like the CamelBak :)

As for the painting, I'd recommend going a little lighter with the details you add. Marine digital camo is pretty light overall. (one of my gripes even with the prototype models we first saw.)

The mods look good. Especially the front pockets.
Did you "regreen" the hands or is that just the new color? Might deepen the finger groves or add a tad more detail on the back since you're at it... though it may have hardened by now.

The overall camo looks better, but is a bit too dark.

Make the modle stand out some. We always wore combat knifes over your chest on the right strap upside down. Having it at your waist would get in the way.

I just repainted the hands, I WISH I could mold new hands, maybe I'll try that sometime to make pointing gestures. Ofcourse that would also involve cutting a few limbs to make new poses which is also part of my plan.
