Movment Question

For movement: centre point.
For turning: back (err, stern or something?). Gives an advantage to larger scale minis and IMO is a silly rule... should be from centre point also.

For movement it doesn't make a difference which point you use. The front moving 6" forward and the back following, is the same as the back moving 6" forward and the front being pushed. But for firing, you'll want to mark the centre point.

It also says you could use a common point as the "centre point" eg the bridge when using miniatures

A common agreed point is a good thing, such as bridge or the most forward stack.
Awkward for aircraft carriers, particularly those few without an "island" (though I believe these have yet to be statted for the game)

Yupp, but all ships have at least one stack, so that's why I stated "or". :)
