Anyone heard of 'Legend of the Five Rings.'
It's a RPG. I't s got a good system, based on Eastern Alchemy.
Which takes five basic elements as the East see them and works off how they could represent the statistics for your chosen character. Be that, Samurai, Ninja, Bushi, Shugenja of either one of the many animal based clans.
I'm not sure if you get be Animal spirits though. There are Rat People, Orges, Goblins & Oni ( Demons.) which non-player monsters. In some ways this is similar to Monkey Magic.
I don't know, maybe if you have enough background information, all of you's together could come up with your own Monkey Magic RPG.

we looked at 5 rings many times on this thread and we have often come to the same conclusion that is........ no give us monkey rpg anyday 8)

some of the reasons are as follows
rings takes it self far too seriously,is based around japanese myth not chinese,anicent myths from china would work very well with mongooses OGL anicents and the background of rings is too tied to its own world not a bad thing but you would have to gut the thing to make a good monkey game so why not work on something better 8)
