You're talking about the TV series (which I don't know) but I heard there was an excellent book on the myth of monkey king but can't remember the author.

Theres also a Monkey! edition. Presumably the Penguin Classics TV-Tie in Edition, with a classical painting of The Great Sage Equal to Heaven on the cover.

What will suprise you is how closely the storys compare (the bits that are included).

Most of the editions are abridged, though I know that Wuxia, being the superman he is, has actually read the unabridged version. The badboy

that is some reading :shock: there is a edition with monkey king from the TV series on the cover but they are rare as most were pulped as the actor refused to allow his image to be used :evil:

not really known as these are anicent chinese legends and folklore its like asking who invented robin hood or king arthur you normally get the name of the translater or collector of these myths
