Weirdly Monkey was translated into English by a man who spoke no japanese or even knew it was japanese, deciding it was best to fill it with comedy and inuendo....

I expect our Monkey! may be quite... different... :shock:

There's an excellent retrospective on Monkey in this months SFX Magazine...in it they mention that there were 50-odd episodes, but only 39 were dubbed into English.

Due to the series continuing cult popularity, they are now preparing to redub the missing episodes for DVD release; with all the same actors, except for the narrator who is, sadly, no longer with us.

So there.

I'm not sure, and don't have my copy of SFX to hand...you should pick it up if you're into sci-fi / cult tv & movies, is an interesting read; available at all good newsagents...NOW!
