Could you tell me the main differences btw RQ2/3 and Stormbringer5? Is it worth getting just for the BRP rules?
It's definitely worth getting. I used Elric/Stormbringer 5, plus RQ3 magic, as by base rule set for Glorantha since it came out in the early 90s. They work very well together, with just a few extra rules to handle DEX ranks instead of Strike Ranks and such.
Skills in Elric scale easily above 100%, with skill modifiers scaled up to compensate so that rolling against half skill, or skill -30% is a pretty common thing. Special successes are on 1/5th your skill as usual, and as skills tend to be higher are a little more common and are used for more in the rules.
In combat you can split your skill to get multiple attacks (minimum 50% per attack, all splits are as even as possible) and each parry/dodge past the first is at -30%, then -60%, etc. This means combat becomes very fluid and dynamic.
Different combat tactics are handled by rules nuggets so for example aimed shots, ripostes, etc are very easy to find and are handled in a fairly consistent way.
Damage was handled as in previous editions of Stormbringer. Armour gave you a dice roll that was deducted from damage. A wound that inflicted half you're HPs in one go was a Major Wound. You then roll for location, and that location is disabled. As a result you don't have to roll location per wound, or track HPs per location, but you still get locational damage.
Only the rules for damage to weapons and weapon types are a bit too detailed and awkward for my tastes, but it's no big deal. I still think the combination of Elric and RQ3 cults/magic are an excellent choice. In fact here are my
Elric/Glorantha Conversion Notes.
