So what is the current status of the immediate time and future of the minaitures game rules.

In laymans words, what is happening right now and will happen with the current Starship troopers rules, or evo rules, or whatever it is going to get called, in conjunction with the SRD concept mentioned on the forums?

Hi there,

We are aiming to have copies of Battlefield Eolvution: World at War in hand for mid-April, and Modern Combat will not be too far behind it. We have not made any firm decision on whether BF Evo will go Open Content, but we now have some idea of how it could work.

SST players will have free PDFs for the new army lists at some point around the release of these two games, and there are already new eras for Victory at Sea planned.

Quite enough for one year!

Good to here. I would like to see starship troopers come back in some form, be it as a wargame srd or a third party given the rules to do a scifi combat game with.

Are the SST army lists for Evo a separate product from the previously announced SSTv2:WotS pdf?

Should we expect to see both?

SSTv2 shares the core rules of Battlefield Evolution: World at War and Modern Combat - you'll need one or the other, as the SST rulebook will not be coming out in its past form.

However, the army lists (and additional rules, such as tunnelling) we are planning to provide as a free PDF download.

Hope that helps!

It dosn't really... sorry we are all being so thick about this. The new SST rules, are they do radicly different from the version one rules that we will need a new core rule book (i.e. battlefield evoltion)?

Radically different? No. But there are a few different traits and other tweaks. Overall, however, the new rules are better - refined and with much greater clarity.

Are these the same rules that are being playtested now?
