Yeah, yeah. Heard it all before. Come on out and try some of our local micro brews.

"What is the difference between German beer reputations and a balloon?"
"Not much, both are overinflated" ;)

Actually, the joke is:

Q: Why is American beer like having sex in a canoe?

A: They're both "effing" close to water.

;-)

Cheers, Gary

PS. David & DKL are correct about the microbreweries. Mass produced crap is just crap, but there's some really good local brews out there just like in Germany (though I like the English bitters myself).

You would. Then again, you play Gaim. Why wouldn't you like bug juice? ;)

Yeah, and what the heck would a Minbari drink anyway, Perrier? Remember the original advert for that - "From the bowels of the earth." Mmmmmm, just makes me want to run out and drink some of that - NOT!!!

I also plan to play Drakh, Vorlons, Shadows and Centauri, probably in that order, but it will take some time due to the money involved. That makes 3 of 5 "bugs" or bug wannabes, a few energy squids, and a group of hedonistic humanoids. Wonder what all of them could make together... hmmm... anyone ever tried Red Horse (Korean beer - *very* nasty, but good for getting eff'ed up on... ;-))?

Cheers, Gary

Red Horse... oh thank you for dredging up that long extinguished memory...

You never know, Red Horse is nasty enough it might even kill off that cold you've got and make you forget you even had it at the same time... ;-)

No. Time for a wee dram of scotch... in medicinal quantities of course. 0;>

"wee dram", n. Centauri unit of measurement equivalent to one Imperial gallon, give or take a bottle or two... ;-)

Screw beer. Want a carbonated drink? Go get yourself a soda. More flavour.
When I want to drink, it's either Jack Daniels or Bourbon or Scotch (I can't afford the grand+ bottles of bourbon and scotch my dad introduced me to and the cheap stuff is well, cheap, so I stick with JD mostly)

We're the only ones that can brew proper beer. German stuff is nice but it's lager. You want proper ale. I reccomend Newcastle Brown for an easy-to-find, well known brand.

Most proper English ales have no gas in them whatsover, and heaps of flavour - at least when they are imbibed! On exit, it's a different story! :)

Dave

Hmmm lager? We call it Pils (after the Pilsner way to brew beer) or Export ( i guess thats lager) and Weizen/Weissbier (which actually comes in many variants: dark, white, crystal for example :D)

So no ^^ we dont only have lager.
But your right im a big fan of the irish pubs here in germany :) and not only for beer... a glass of midleton very rare every now and then is great as well.

EDIT : I googled a little ^^ ok Pils and Export are Lager while Weissbier/Weizen/Altbier is Ale ^^ so we actually have both here in germany and i can tell you, we have it in abundance :D.

But i will try to find that Newcastle in "the english shop" (we have one around).

Try Theakson's Olde Peculiar, it is one of the best English beers I tasted when I was over there. But try it carefully, it's real easy to drink, and real strong for beer.

I like the cut of your jib young man, Old P is the best beer ever, though Marstons Empire is fantastic if you want something a bit lighter.

I worked part time in a Marston's pub,(its nearly traditional for kiwis in the UK to work in a pub at some time or other) so that gets my vote!! It's a shame my family in the UK can't post me any Old P. It's damn near impossible to get down here.
