Miniatures?

And if the answer to that question is "no" can people suggest some good sites that sell very small model ships for those of us who would like to use miniatures in our battles?

IIRC one of the reasons that they are not doing so is the upcoming War at Sea game coming out from Wizards.

According to the article in Signs & Portents 29, written by Matthew Sprange, there will be no Mongoose produced models as there are a few already doing it and doing it well.

Navvwar (which he reccommends and uses):

GHQ (I am using these)

C in C Miniatures:

Panzerschiffe resin miniatures:

To which I'd add:

The Skytrex "Davco" 1/3000 range:
http://www.skytrex.com/

Stronghold Miniatures (they bought the old SDD range)

Thanks. What's everyone's experience with the different companies that they use been? Such as how long it takes to ship, damaged products, etc?

I've been happy with Panzerschiffe in price, service and quality when looking only for tabletop play pieces as opposed to highly detailed and accurate models. There's another thread where I posted pics. .

My FLGS owner (a friend, drinking buddy and ardent wargamer, with deep and long experience with every form of military minis) was deeply UNimpressed by those when he saw examples in trade promotional material. He also knows gamers who have seen them 'in the flesh'. They are simplified, fairly crude, only adequately painted, and are NOT to any sort of common scale.

Mind you, he sent back a bunch of die-cast Panzer IVH because they had the wrong kind of commander's hatch (single-piece instead of split, I think, or vice-versa...)

Where has WotC been displaying them? I didn't think they had any at GenCon?
I think these gamers were also in the trade. It was recent, anyway, within a few weeks. I imagine they must be doing some test shots by now!

Thats probably the case. The only people I've heard of seeing them are WotC employees at the moment.

Vice versa, IIRC. My Italeri 1/35 model has a single lid :)
