Confrontation do some beautiful miniatures to be sure. It's been a loooong time since I had the patience and the time to assemble and paint them however.

I just have this nagging prejudice in favor of Old Glory miniatures.

OldGlory castings can be uneven, some good, some a bit less good, but I guess I figure that at my particular level of painting skill, the quality of the casting doesn't make all that much difference (and since you look at the miniatures from 3 feet away, it makes even less difference). But, Old Glory gives you a bag of 30-32 footmen for $27 and that just leaps up screams "Buy Me!" to my cheapskate soul. Also, Old Glory casts in true 25mm, not the 28-30mm that's becoming more popular. Most of the older miniatures in my collection were already in 25mm (old D&D Grenadier from the early 80's and various tag alongs) so I like to stay at that size.

I have 30 Old Glory Injuns, and they were just perfect for Picts (if you ignore the 5-6 who had rifles). Those Indians painted up particularly nicely too as it happens. I haven't used my hordes of Vikings, Peasants, Saxons or Romano-British yet, but they're coming.

One beef (or perhaps two). The Injuns came in 2 parts, you had to glue the torsos to the legs, which sucked and caused me to scream a lot, and the Roman-British and Saxon spear men came without spears, so I had to glue Broom Straw onto their hands, which also sucked and caused me to scream a lot. (I tried using metal wire and specially purchased spears, but Broom Straw rules over these other methods).
