Mongoose
I posted earlier asking about BFEvo gamers in the Chicago area...wanted to see the response from a huge metro area...I have and will travel down to Chicago to game...have been to Games Plus in Mt. Prospect many times...

I am actually from the Milwaukee , WI area...anyone here going to give this game a go...

wow...no interest in the game in the Milwaukee area...I will have to re-think getting into it...I really like everything about the game...but you need someone to play...

No offense, but bBasing your decision on an international forum with only a few hundred active members worldwide, before the game even launches probably isn't the best criteria.

Visit "Games Plus" ask around to see if they'll be carrying the game. hang ou with some of the players and see if you can drum up iterest. Don't quit the fight before the bell has even rung. :D

Actually, with the whole pre-paint, non-collectable thing I've been able to get some of my friends excited that have only been exposed to Mage Knight and clix games. I think it might cause a stable following in my area (Valdosta, GA).

I say go ahead and buy yourself two unit boxes on release, and bring them to your local shop's game day.

Plop them down on the table and people are bound to take notice of fully painted miniatures.

I would agree that if you want players you have to go and create some interest yourself. Bring along the models to the store, get a game going, or whatever. You could even try and get someone from the Mongoose Infantry to come and do a Battlefield Evo day once it's out (I would, but there's a large body of water in the way).

Games Plus told me they will be carrying it.

And I'm sure I will probably end up running it for my local group, not far from Games Plus just to drum up some more interest.

AIG..."Adventures in Gaming"...here in Milwaukee...is carrying the AT-43 game...so I hope they will do the same for BFEvo...

If you ask them to order you some, I don't see why a retailer wouldn't do it (unless we are talking about ordering Mongoose stuff from a GW store :D ). Once you have it, try it out with your friends and try to get them hooked. I mean if you really think about it, there is no real downside to getting quality pre-painted. The minis look nice, and you can start playing the game as soon as you can rip the box open! No supergluing (though I'll miss the fumes... :P  ), no more priming (though I'll miss the...oh, I said that already   ), no more painting. Simply open the box and go. If anything, it might be surprising to find that people that you would not expect to be interested in gaming would now consider it.

My 2 cents anyway. :D
