Will it be separate books - in which case there is one book I would dearly love to write, assuming it's not been allocated already - or will "Merchant Prince" cover all three careers?

Spica's Career Book 1 breaks out the Citizen career.

Each of the specialties in the TMB are split off into it's own career with three specialties each. They are presented with their own skill/benefits/Mishaps and Events.

I would hope that scholars and merchants have separate and individual books. They are very different career paths and deserve in-depth treatment, separately/.

Scholars would be awesome. Then we can have such exciting events as "Conference coming up! You forego all sleep for a week beforehand and go crazy", and "Get screwed over by supervisor who takes all your credit - gain enemies." and "funding runs out, go back to square one"!

Scholars include historians, linguists, mad geniuses and, of course, archaeologists.

And where you have archaeologists, you have Ancient artifacts ... most likely ...

Oh there are more then ancients out there. Take the alien base in Prison Planet as an example.
