Mercenary Forces.

How about providing a Merc "shopping list" and let players choose what they want to equip their mercenary squads with?

lol that would be funny, mybe not allow 2 members to be the same points cost as well.

I considered the same thing. :D Make merc points at a premium to reflect their flexibility.

Don't call them Mercs, call them Contractors (who BTW are used in huge numbers in places like Iraq.). If you want a rough guidline you have: Advisors (who would be with local troops and train them), Security (your common contractor), Specialists (pilots, snipers etc.) and Transport (Armed truck drivers.). Thats a simplification but it gives you the general idea I hope.

So a guy with an assault rifle that you hire to attack someone would fall under the 'security' category?

And to be honest, no, I don't get the idea

Contractors? No worries for me, when it comes down to it they are more or less the same.

So what does PMC stand for?

As for the 'buy' list, I think it might do the list a little to flexible. Though I like the idea of lightly armored contractors (see there Hiro  ), like Paladin's Bounty Hunters.

Dont PMC make ammo ?

Maybe change the name from GMC (Global Mercenary Coalition) to GCC (Global Contractor Coalition).

And that, laides and gents, is a lack of imagination.

Scrap that and thank Wikipedia!

PMC=Private Military Companies!

So, PMC's it is then!

Still, they'll be participating in force.

Thats one of the best things I have seen on this site, and by far the funniest.

I'd perfer it if you call them PMC. I'm a contractor myself, and I certainly don't feel like a mercenary.

Could always say freelancer (which is a job I've done. Though not any form of freelance military work. God knows what the result would be if anyone gave me a rifle.)

Good times...Good work Paladin.

Xeoran, you'd probably end up shooting yourself in the left nut. I don't know how you'd do it, but it'd happen.

I don't think even I'd be that bad. Last time I fired a gun I just missed stuff by healthy margins.

The are called The Union

The Union

"Senator, we are a small compnay that uses self employed contractors to fill very special roles.

Please refrain from calling us thugs for hire, we are just an agency, like Kelly Sevices, except our skill sets are more costly.

By the way how is your daughter Julie enjoying Paris this month?"

Quotes from the VP of The Union

Lee

Well, I never called them thugs for hire did I? Not seriously anyway.

PMC's, if I get the idea, provide both non-combat personel (transport pilots, instructors etc.) and combat personel to whoever pays them. Is that true?
