MEA IED

A kipper, also known as a red herring, is a whole fish that has been split from tail to head, eviscerated, salted, and cold smoked. Typically, the species is a herring or salmon, but traditionally it is any fish found in great numbers and caught during its spawning period. The process of smoking the fish turns it red. Spawning fish are not good to eat fresh and usually arrive in great abundance, thus they are salted and smoked to improve flavor and preservation.

My comments about weapons being made in the US and UK are down to the fact the 2 largest manufacturers of weapons and sellers of weapons in the world are the US and the UK, there is also a huge BLACK market in weapons (illegal weapons sales) do you think that none of these arms sellers are selling weapons to insurgents?

IED is a propoganda term that means as much as Illegal combatant. Yes some IEDs are booby traps using tank shells and other munitions, but many are weapons being used exactly as they where designed to be used, its just that the people who used them are "wrong" and only use IEDs or so we are being led to believe.

Do you seriously believe that the Arms manufacture companies are selling directly to the black market? Black market weapons come from 3rd party sources. Example munitions bought legally by a country that later either sells it or has it stolen. Left over munitions abound, and pass through multiple hands before they tend to end up on the black market.

As for the IED thing, as Hiromoon explained the key word is Improvisied. Otherwise it is not a IED, but instead just a explosive devise. Again I say your agenda has clouded your rational thinking.

Now if you want to get on a soapbox and talk in the off topic discussion about the evils of landmines, that is fine. Just keep the topic rational.[/i]

Personally, I think the former Allies bear some responsibility for the current situation in the world, but it's down to the choices they made post WWII in redrawing various borders, and the Cold War model of supporting some very horrible people because they toed the appropriate ideological line. But it's jut like life - you make your choices and you deal with the aftermath. And yeah, your personal politics may colour your opinion of those actions, but that's what makes discussions interesting :D

I here ya Nagle. Hindsite is always 20/20 and yes the world is a imperfect place full of wrong choices. Anyone that thinks goverments are the places for solutions will always be disappointed. That said, sometimes people like to displace blame, it is a human thing. Kind of like,...

Blaming a Pharmacy manufacture of Sudafed because some people use it to make Meth. Or sueing a phone company, because a drunk ran off the road, and killed a man in a phone booth. Pure rot.
