MC Questions.

Two questions that popped up at the weekend:

1. The TOW launcher option for a Hum-vee in the USMC list has a single shot trait - do they not carry any reloads, or do the reloads have to be paid for each? The HMMWV that I've seen with a TOW launcher certainly had a couple of spares in them.

2. Our USMC player also questioned if the Shadows still come 3 to an option choice. If he doesn't have Shadows transporting his infantry, he only has 0-3 battalion/armour slots left to pick them up in. Can he use one of those 3 slots to take 3 shadows, as he used to be able to under the old rules (he likes swarms of Shadows).

1 - Unless the stats specifically say to ignore the one-shot trait (like TOWs mounted on Bradleys do), then it's one-shot

2 - it's only one shadow per slot now.

1: The MC versions only get one missile shot. Perhaps it takes too long to reload or (most likely I think) it's a trade-off for still allowing a TOW-armed Hummer to still have it's full transport capacity. Chances are they'd only get one shot off anyway before they got hammered by pretty much anything with LOS :)

2: Sorry, they eat up one slot apiece. Your group could always house-rule that Shadows can be used as squad transports just like Humvees in the official list, as long as the points were adjusted accordingly.

EDIT: Just checked the book, Shadows can be bought one per fire team for transports. I'd left that option off my unit cards as I don't have any.

So I see, I'm using home-cooked unit cards and had forgotten that I'd left off that option (needed the space, and I don't have any). Just as well I looked at the rulebook before adding another post :)

Hmmm. He was looking to create a fast, mobile, light tank-killing force, hence the Shadows with their missiles and the TOW armed Hummers. If he takes shadows as squad transports that'll be 6 shadows, plus one for HQ plus then three hummers for the armour/batt support with no arty or air?

HMMWV, actually.......

Just my $.02.

Yeah, which is pronounced Humm-Vee, since the American forces can't cope with an acronym they can't actually say.

Thankfully, we British just use Land Rovers. Landie is a lot easier than making sense of that string of letters...

It's only a Hummer if you're a civvie. Military (I.e. not worthless) version is called the Humm-Vee.

Tsk. You knew what I meant.
