Martial and Exotic Weapons.

I must be missing something. I can't find a reason/answer anywhere, so I figure I'll post it here.

Nordheimers have weapon familiarity: broadsword as a racial ability, which makes broadswords count as martial weapons. They all have racial weapon proficiency in broadsword regardless. So what's the point of weapon familiarity? I don't understand why it matters if the weapon goes from exotic to martial, especially since they all know how to use it anyway.

What am I missing here?

Do you have the Atlantean Edition of the RPG? I just checked and Nordheimers get the Martial Proficiency:Broadsword for free, but they treat war swords as martial rather than exotic weapons.

Two different weapons :)

the reason for the proficeny for broad swords is that not all classes get broadswords, like a Nordhiem Thief.

Woooooo, I feel silly. You're 100% correct. Now it all makes sense. :)

Thanks.
