Magic Items and Manuevers

Just throwing this out there, but as I am creating magic items for my new campaign (which is low fantasy and gritty), I was trying to figure out how to make them unique, and not just another sword that does +2 on damage. So I thought, how about weapons that gain an edge in maneuvers? Perhaps a unique longsword never needs a roll to yank free from an Impale (or for stingy GM's, give it a +30% to Brawn roll)? Just that alone would make it much sought after. Or a weapon that doesn't need a critical success to Maximize Damage, just the one level of success over his opponent? Again, just this one thing would make it sought after and coveted, without needing to give it a + on hitting or damage. What about a small shield that always blocks as a size larger, or a short sword that parries as a weapon size larger. A magic arrow that always causes the Bleed manuever for free on a successful hit, or an edged weapon that also Stuns Location (I thought it would be cool to use blunt weapon manuevers for edged weapons or vice versa, as long as a magical or plausible reason could be given....i.e. a magical poison is secreted on impact, paralyzing limbs, and so) as a manuever. Just brainstorming this morning, thanks for listening.

Sounds good its some thing i am thinking of doing. get away from the D&D plus weapons and go with weapons that offer skill bonuses rather than just pluses to dam

Sounds good to me. These are good, useful minor items.

You might want to give some thought about how they would work as well.

An arrow with Bleed is fine as it has a very sharp edge. A whip with Trip is also clear.

Some magic items don't seem to have any relationshuip between the item itself and its magical property, something that I personally do not like.
