Looking for some B5 ACTA minis

Hi all!

First, I've been lurking for quite awhile and I want to thank everyone for the great pictures posted, the help with rules, assistance with painting, and all the other things that you all do so well that help fellow gamers enjoy their games even more.

Second, I have at least one of nearly all the B5W/ACTA scale minis that have been put out (let's not even get into the FA scale ones...) but there are a few I would still like to find and it seems to be getting more difficult to find these as more time passes from the game going OOP/Discontinued.

If anyone has any of the following that they would like to part with, please send me a PM:

Space Liner (have been outbid twice for one of these)
Technomage Pinnace
Hurr Gunship (again, have been outbid twice)

Hermes Transport
Tantalus Assault Cruiser (I might just kitbash one up...)

Well of course! Makes the bidding wars on eBay so much more____ (feel free to fill in the blank).

Stateside...already provided Dzur's , 40kSue and Bflea (the 3 I know of that seem to sell the most B5 ACTA stuff) with a list of what I'm looking for.

I came to the ACTA scale late...got most of the Fleet Action size, then decided I wanted many of the ships not made in that scale. By then, the line was cancelled and I've been playing catch up ever since.

Thanks! I have quite a few damaged/miscast starfuries that could be offered up for the sacrifice/conversion.

Neroon: It's such a funky looking mini - everyone wants one to show off.
I might use an old BFG Eldar raider ship and try to get - if not that look - at least the spirit of the mini's lines.

Well, there WAS a disturbing lack of minis on eBay until Burger opened up his treasure chest and brought joy and empty wallets back - there were something like 30-40 ACTA mini offerings; now the # is around 93

Oh, and add a Xonn DN to the list of minis I'm looking for - though I'm seeing possibilities in the form of a spare Z'Takk mini and some extra parts laying around...

If you're willing to do that level of surgery or building, then the Technomage Pinnace should be easy. It's basically two triangles stuck together with a pair of half-cylinders underneath.

Yeah, I just dug out some old B5Wars Delta-V Raider minis and was thinking one of them would work well - add a piece for that small top fin and the 1/2 cylinders you mentioned (btw, thanks for pointing those out. I had not seen a pic of the mini that showed those).

I also might try to scratch-build a civ liner too - found a link from someone on the forums that led to a great site showing how to do so.

My problem (one of many :lol: ) when it comes to kit-bashing or using proxies is I suffer from "must have one of every original thing in the lineup" syndrome

You should look into a Warstar from the Hostile Intent line for you Xonn. Thats what I have.

It does look Cylon-ish but its still better than nothing and the price is good too.

When I said the Technomage Pinnace was basically two triangles stuck together, I meant it. The Delta-V has a lot of nice surface detail which would be a shame to obliterate either by filing down or covering with putty. For about the same effort, you could either sand down a thick piece of plastic card or build up a thin piece to an aerofoil. Take a look at this:

I may have to build up a few Pinnaces myself. Reading their rules, they could be quite amusing to play, especially against Shadows.
Shadow player: <rolls 6D beam, gets 8 hits, 3 criticals, total of 36 damage> "Take that!"
Technomage player: <uses special ability to reflect beam> "Back at you, and incidentally you've just pinned yourself. :twisted:"
They would also have been a laugh in the Kettering tournament where Shadows weren't allowed to use their Hyperspace Mastery rule, but nothing was said about Technomages using the same rule. :lol:
