Lone Wolf - Back with a Vengeance!

Well, there is a certain demand for various sourcebooks. When I hear great news like this I always wish that I could end my studies faster and begin working. Living on the economy of a student is not fun when there is so many great RPGs to buy.

I'm so with you on that one. But I for my part seem to be just too lazy when it comes to real life stuff...so it's mostly my own fault. :(

Write stuff for S&P. You can get free Mongoose stuff (or those green bits of paper that buy beer). :)

That's a great idea, Greg, but I don't think my command of the english lnguage is good enough :-)

But I could give it a try... just gotta think of something good :)

Your English is a lot better than my German. Es ist nicht sehr gut. :)

Besides if they like the idea, they could always edit it.

Thanks, Greg, I usualy answer this compliment with the statement: I learned all my english by watching Star Trek episodes on tape.

IMHO your German seems to be okay, at least so far :-) How come that you speak some?

Now I just need a great idea, that they will want and like so much, that they would want to put the extra manpower behind it to edit my bad language use... Gotta come up with something big

There are worse ways to learn it. :)

At school. So was a long time ago. And it doesn't get much use.

That is my problem, struggling to come up with ideas for articles.

You are so right of course, and it really worked that's quite impressive. I manage to understand nearly everything that I read. And a little bit of it I learnt at school as well. 8)

You seem to have experience. Have you been published in S&P?

EDIT: I have followed your Signature link and now know everything about your Mongoose accolades. Reminds me of the rule: First read, then post...

Have to admit, I download 'em but couldn't recall off hand what you might have handed in.

What's your favorite system? I can see you've posted quite often in LoneWolf regarding topics and have playtested ACTAs. Are there more games of interest?

Currently ACTA is my number one game. I have played a lot of different games in the past and unfortunately do not get to do as much gaming as I would like (mostly due to working evenings and weekends).

Of Mongoose's games I have played the B5 RPG, Jeremiah, Starship Troopers (both wargame and RPG).

My favourite RPG system? Probably Last Unicorn's Star Trek. I ran a huge campaign that went on for years.

As for writting for S&P, I can write Call to Arms scenarios fairly easily, but I struggle to come up with anything with more substance.

I just love the Romulan box set made by LUG. It was my very first Trek RPG and I still hold it in very high esteem. :D

What was your campaign about? Classic Trek, exploring and stuff? What era did you play in? Oh yes I'm too curious ;-)

The Romulan boxed set was pretty cool.

It started aboard the USS Challenger, a galaxy class ship, back when Trek was a FASA game and TNG was on TV, and was a TNG style game. After a break it returned as a Star Fleet Inteelegence game with a few of the same characters. Then another break and it returned as a DS9 style game (using the LUG rules) aboard the Defiant-class USS Thunderchild. This ran for quite a while and ended as the Thunderchild was destroyed by an alien device during the Dominion war and the remaining characters were sent across the galaxy by an alien transport beam.

Then I began again with some recurring characters from the previous campaign taking the lead roles in Star Trek: Dominion, set in an alternate reality when the Federation has lost the Dominion War. Starting with nothing they begin to build alliances, gather alien technology and weapons and wage a war of resistance against the Dominion occupiers. It was epic and a lot of fun. A game the like of which I have never run previuosly or again.

But each campaign was connected to each other with a continuity of characters. The first officer of the USS Challenger became the captain of the USS Defiant and had a ship named after him when the Dominion were finally driven from the Alpha quadrant.

Guys, could you try to veer less off topic please?

Sure, sorry for getting carried away here. 8) Which was fun nevertheless (great story arc, Greg).

Do you really think that anything new will be posted regarding Lone Wolf in the near future in this thread, though?

Greg Smith said:
Sure sorry.

Cut, did you learn English from Lone Wolf as well, or were there German translations?

To spare this thread the ongoing offtopic debate, I suggest relocating this interesting discussion to a new thread (and poll by the way) that I have just established (to be found right here: http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=323352#323352 )

Okay, back to exclamations of joy at Matt's announcement.

Yes, indeed, isn't it time for some new hint at the future of the LoneWolf RPG line again, please? :D

You could write for S&P Cut. I have faith in ye!

If I can do it, anyone can ;)

Thanks for your confidence in my abilities. I shall honour you in the aknowledgements my first published book

A shame that I did not really got the answer to my question. I'd bought the Warcraft D20 game and it did not take long before they re-made it to fit the computer game more properly. It would be nice with dual stat books as Chaosium did for a while when the D20 Call of Cthulhu game still was supported.
