Light Armor Infantry upgrades (12/06/2007)

Well, the pulse weapons from the second movie are going to be 2nd generation magnetic acceleration tech. The PRISM light rifle is in from SST:TA.

So there are blackshirts that replace the LAMI squads.
And there are balckshirts NCOs, and LTs,
And a blackshirt SICON agent.
What can we do to add another, newer unique unit?

*Cough* Striker suits *Cough*

Well, the force structure looks more like this:

SICON Agent
Black Shirt NCO
Black Shirt Squads

The SICON Agent replaces the LT.

Oh, I'm going to try to do some Medium Armor troopers... basically think of the Armor from SST:TA.

Strykers effectively would have little to no difference in stats when compared to regular Power Armor.

I suppose. They'd make nice minis though. Another Blackshirt unit would rock though.
Whats SST:TA? Was that the videogame?

Starship Troopers: Terran Ascendancy

And what do you suggest? The Black Shirts are the only ones that can get squads of MAMI...

I dunno, but I always felt some of the platoons lacked a unit or two, not taking into account command assets, explacements and so forth. I know you can mix platoons, but I am used to huge army lists ala 40K.

I suppose something different. Maybe a Research and development squad testing out new weapons and equipment, like a new shredder,
or
a squad of Sicon Blackshirts psychis like the skinnie cabal

Sure thing. I wonder if anyone would be interested in my Reporter article for BF:Ev?

Anyway, I got the SICON Agent and Blackshirt NCO done up.. lemme post them soon.

I'm still in need of my morning tea but really quick:

SICON Agent:
"May the cold psychic hand of one of these agents never caress your throat..."

I'm thinking Dark Vader in the Death Star command room.
I'm sure you can reword it better if it doesn't make sense.

It's for S&P. Origionally I was going to convert a figure, but given the price of figures, and the scale difference between the two groups, I might as well just release it as a stand alone thing.

You're silly.

And it's because I haven't done it yet.

Yes, that's SICON for you...getting equipment that doesn't exist yet. :D

They recalled it, or maybe its indoctrination. Either way its obvious that some people, myself inclusive, are obviously not paying attention.

A couple of questions:

If these are the best of the best of the Light MI, why are their target scores still 3+?

Movement: Is there are reason movement varies between the Agent and the NCO? There may be some trick I'm missing here...

Unless the privates are stupid, I don't see why the NCO needs to be so hard on elite troops? Hard meaning phsyically hard. There is no reason for that in a combat zone. Now, being MENTALLY tough with them, that makes more sense. If I think of some useful wording for that I'll send it to you.

Well, you got recruits picked for the Cadre.. people with natural talent for violence and mayhem.. and then you have experienced members of the Invasion Companies, typically those poor bastards that went in with the first wave and lived to tell about it. The NCO is hard on the recruits because, well, they're recruits. The NCO is hard on the experienced guys because, well, if you're this bastard that managed to live through the first wave assault, wouldn't you be a bit cocky?

And they don't benefit from full power armor, thus their Target score is 3+

As for movement, I just put down what the SICON Agent has for movement from his entry in the Mobile infantry book, altered of course.

Edit:
New from Tibericorp Industries, the PRISM light rifle takes the firepower once enjoyed by the Bugbroom and Scythe laser cannons and packs it into a light-weight frame that even Invasion Company troopers can handle. While not as strong as it's larger cousins, the PR-201-a still packs enough of a punch to put down even the most tenacious Warrior bug.
