Less high tech western forces in the next rulebook?

Since it will be difficult to find existing models from third party companies of near future infantry and vehicles, will the new rulebook reflect the U.S. and Brit forces of today? Rather than 20 years from now? In other words, will we see Marines without Land Warrior equipment and using Humvees instead of Shadows?

I'm hoping the title BFevo:Modern Warfare means Mongoose will keep the game in the present instead of 15 years in the future. You're right, A_M, there are a lot more modern miniatures and kits more readily avialable as compared to future stuff.

Yeah, cause either we wait for some miniatures company to come up with near future models (which is pretty uncertain and may take a long while) or we get rules which allows us to use tons of existing models.

Well it's not like FIST or Land Warrior is that big a deal to have on the model or not - lacking future vehicles is more of an issue I think.

Eh, proxy them until the rules start to take off and a 3rd party company develops something that fits the bill. If the game grows on the market is there it is inevitable. There really aren't that many units that don't exist already. As with the last version of Evo, the majority are the modern variants with some upgrades.

They will but (in the next version of the playtest lists) they will be a unit option, rather than factored in to the core infantry.

Now this option I like! In fact, that's the most brilliant idea for the situation BF EVO is in right now. Thanks Matt. I hope you give us more options like this for rifles as well since I can safely say that no one in world makes modern infantry minis armes with SCARS or M416s.
