Legend Campaign Discussion or how to pathfind a beginning...

Hopeless

Mongoose
So far have run a couple of games using some Pathfinder modules for inspiration and have gone far enough to mix in historia rodentia, well okay a Valkyr and a war chariot being operated by a pair of Meercats based on a certain series of TV adverts except the character personalities have been swapped around...

Anyway going to go back to this at some point, currently they're on their way to an ominous skull shaped mountain-like hill to rescue some captive villagers including the girlfriend of a PC knowing that a powerful sorceror lies in wait.

Have that particular adventure thought out and a number of options of where to go from there one of which eventually explores a mysterious island at the heart of the massive Thames that separates Ritia from the Southern Islands and one of the subplots is a village named Tarmsen which is rules by a theocracy (think original Beastmaster movie) whom have had a hand in some of the problems faced by the village the PCs are based at.

There is a noble rank up for grabs and the village of Tarmsen has made several attempts to secure this position of power that turns the area into a Barony however during the first couple of adventures the PCs have discovered a Duchy is up for grabs and a sizeable army to back up their claim if they succeed.

Looking at having another Baron getting involved to set up the climatic battle for the end of the first "season" which can lead further if I can keep them interested but I'd like a second opinion (or more) to avoid some of the pitfalls as I tend to go overboard on these things!

The plot sounds interesting, in that there will be political wrangling, physical action and adventure involved so provided that is checked and allowed to develop organically and not all flood out at once it should be something to remember.

What is the Sorceror's motivation for kidnapping the villagers?

How well did the Pathfinder modules translate to Legend, or were they purely used for inspiration?

He's part of a cult setting up the country for an invasion, to insure they can't pose any threat he's attempting to secure certain artefacts including those that would bestow the possessor with the title of Duke of Essex.
The PCs were also blamed for the death of a former student of his that was actually slain by a party from Tarmsen, which is why the Inn where two of the PCs had rooms (sorry missed that!) was raided and a specific villager was kidnapped after being linked to one of the PCs (the Blacksmith).

Largely inspiring but used a few of the stats and details which got me in trouble since i really ought to convert the money found into silver rather than keep it as gold which means they have enough to not worry about finances for a while at least!

Converted any magical items using Legend spells as a basis so any enchanted weapons had bladesharp and so on, the steel plates used as favours were turned into steel ingots which serve as a good subplot for later on and used special materials to explain away some magical items but had a funny moment when the woodsman found a magical pouch the size of a small money pouch and tried to put a kite shield inside it before realising that it might be able to hold 50lbs of weight but wasn't large enough to hold anything as big as a shield!

Simples!

Sorry, couldn't resist. ;-)

Should have seen their reaction when they first encountered them with Aleksandr busy making tea before noticing them and after telling Sergei he ran into the side tent hollering at them to wait at which point he emerged in his Valkyr!

Didn't realise the Valkyr is supposed to have a crossbow on one arm and instead it was a grenade launcher which the party was introduced to when Sergei tripped over in his Valkyr and it blew up a nearby tree... by the end of that evening the Blacksmith's player was asking the rest of the players' how the anima had better tech than the humans...

The revelation that the anima have air transportation might have more to do with that response though!
