LBH's fleets, advice on additional purchases please

Indeed, I'm looking at fleet compositions now to decide what to buy.

I'm thinking I probably won't get any more Minbari, except for some Nials and Fighters. I discovered today that if I field all 3 VCDs and take 1 point of Allies I could theoretically field a 10 Armageddon ISA fleet (9 ISA points, 1 point allies)

One blister or two of Badgers?

I think only one of Firebolts as I doubt I'll field many of them, and they cost twice as much to field as the other fury variants anyway.

HErmes and Myrmidons are likely purchases, if only to add flexibility.

I have 2 flights of flyers, I'm thinking of getting at least 2 more blisters, maybe more, what do people think.

Still workign out the details and finessing my finances. I'll post my final thoughts here later or tomorrow for comments

EDIT : Thanks Greg, you're right about WS, I'll think I'll up it to the dozen, finances prevent many more being bought, i f only the still did the original ISA box set, that was worth it for the WS alone.

You can still find the old ISA box if you look around online. But you will be paying close to full price for it.

Well given I can get 10 WS for about that much and I don't really need 2 more VCDs (Which would give me a total of 5) I think I'll just buy a couple of single ones to make the dozen.

2 dozen would be nice, but if I ever need that many I'll augment my minis with counters, assuming I ever build the minis :lol:

Well here's my top end wish list for ships I think:

EA Early years box set
EA Crusade Era Box set

8 flights of Nova Furies
4 flights of Breaching Pods
4 flights of Firebolts

3 pack of Technomage Pinnaces

2 pack of Hermes
2 2 packs of Myrmidons
2 White Stars
2 Nolo'Tars (Proper Nolo'Tar minis)
2 3 packs of Blue Stars
12 flights of Nials
8 flights of Minbari Flyers

I think that's about £180 so I might trim it down a bit before I put the order in.

Can anyone think of anything I've missed?

Well I don't need Novas (they're just ordinary fury models) but I forgot Badgers.

Though common sense is starting to rear it's ugly head, I may opt to just fill out my ISA fleet and make do with the rest of what I have.

Look on the bright side, least you don't have to convert it to $AUD. My friends and myself put a big order in and I'm just wishing the exchange rate was more like $USD to $AUD

Well I've pretty much decided to make do wth what I have in terms of EA, Narn and Centauri, I can still field a pretty decent 3rd age fleet with what I have.

But I'm going all out on the ISA. If I get

2 3-packs of Blue Stars
2 Nolo'Tars
4 White Stars
4 4 packs of Nials
2 4 packs of Flyers

I'll be able to field a 10 point Armageddon @ISA fleet without using allies, and have enough fighters to fill all the hangars as well whilst I do it. Even if I don't use any WS Scouts to save on Nials.

It'll also give me enough fighters to fill my hangars of my Minbari ships.

Add some Pinnaces and some Breaching pods and it's £76.80 IIRC.

Sounds like a good compromise - makes sure the Minbari and ISA are fully fit and the EA may have to do some mixing between the eras but are still very playable.

Well I have realised I would be one flyer short for the Minbos if all my LEshaths went into battle carrying flyers, but I doubt I'll worry about that unless Matt can sell me a single flight, not worth buying a whole blister of 4 flights for that, when I can put a nial in the Leshath instead.

I'll have a 6 pt Armageddon Minbari fleet without any more ships. Lots of beamy death to field.

And I'd love to get the chance to field all 3 Victorys at the same time, plenty of Blue Stars for an init sinks.
