Latest Rulebook - Comments and Requests

Hey, GMAN, it's awesome you're on the ball, but a few of these things have been pointed out already earlier in the thread (the typo and missing mutant, for instance, are in my own post).

Oops, my bad, i'm at work so have to be stealthy when checking things, so usually miss stuff like that. :p

umm any thoughts on Bionics. Ive been running simple ones like
-Bionic eyes: Adds +1 when spoting hidden characters also allows owner to spot hidden characters outside of the 20" been messing around with about 50cr 5pts
-Bionic legs: can undo damage to legs(campaign)75cr/0pts
advanced legs: +1 to movement 200cr/20pts
-Arms is basically same as lags except with melee.
-you can buy additional armsthat add +1d for 200cr/25pts
-special lungs(counts as respirator) 100cr/5pts
-Cyber tail: +1 to agility checks 50cr/10pts
-adrenal ennhancers: +1 to agility(even dodge) 250cr/30pts

These are the few I have actually tried using. I can list others that didnt sound so good. if you like.

A Fast zombie with a different stat line and an Ambush zombie would give the Zombie player more thematic options.

These will come, but let us sort out minis for the brainless zombies first.

What does a "Flyer Type" do? models using a glider, power board or jet pack gain this trait, but I can't see what its advantages/disadvantages are anywhere.

A quick note on this one - at the moment, it does nothing. It is a 'rule to come' which we may pick up on later.

Just to let you all know, the update will be available a little later this week.

Nothing huge, mostly just a tidy up as we await new models. Did add the Werewolf though (and you are going to regret asking for that!).

With the update around the corner, (hopefully a major one soon) I have read through the book all the way through again. I've come to another few things.
-Hiding seems better than the stealth ability. hiding autamaticallynegates LoS. Stealth gives opponents within 20" a chance to see you. Im guessing its supposed to allow you to move but it does not state anything like this.
Another talent, Close Combat Shooter: can the owner shoot normally or only the person in close combat with it.
-The spit gun is 2.5 times more expensive than the spit pitol for only 2 more inches and 1 more AP. Seems pretty steep.
-Also the price for Laser rifle, Laser Cannon and Heavy Spit gun are all 75. I understand there are pretty big differences but should they all be the same price?

I am in a huge rush right now, so may refine this more later, but I'm sure I got the point across on these items.

PS> SWEETT!!! update!!!

The pistol is nasty. The full-size version is a judge-killer, hence the price.

Totally reasonable, and glad to hear that some extras for the zombie force will be added.

Seeing as this update is mainly a tidy up, I suppose that that means that we wont be seeing the City Def figures that showed up at a US show last year any time soon :(

The current Day of Chaos Dredd storyline has me in a mood for Citi-Def...

We were not completely happy with those models, I am afraid, and the Citi-Def will be re-done at some point.

On a more positive note, we are currently testing half a dozen new sculptors for the Judge Dredd range so, once we have them on board and everyone is happy, releases should be coming far more often!

Awww that's a real shame, i was really looking forward to them too :( . I'm surprised they're getting redone, as they seemed to receive a lot of positive comments.

Damn! I've been waiting ages for those. Wish i'd of gone to GenCon now  Hopefully they'll turn up on eBay some time for a reasonable price...Can i ask what you weren't happy with? I would of thought they were a shoe in for release because they really capture the style of Dredd, especially the heavy machine gun guy.

Thats disappointing. I completed my set of the Dredd/GoMC1 figure range at Salute and was hoping that those Citi-Def would be next. A pity.

Keep them coming please. The decision to make generic models rather than characters is a good one as far as I am concerned. I cant wait to get my hands on more miniatures portraying the broad range of MC1 inhabitants.

And the Manta of course...

Urgh, proper gutted, they were really nice minis, shame they wont be seeing the light of day...Don't suppose there is any surplus stock left from the initial casting that will be getting a limited release or anything?

That's cool, i'm looking at doing that too, just need to "exclusive" Robot from the box set, i rushed out and got all the minis when they were first released, then the box set got re-released with it in...I made a school boy error, and should of waited

So was this minor update scrubbed in prefrence to just releasing the Major version a bit later/earlier?

Awesome! Really cant wait!

Thanks!

*Later that afternoon*

I checked just on a whim, everything looks alot clearer! Especially the pics. Plus the little additions everywhere of examples, clarifications and pics is REALLY AWESOME.
It's even better seeing so many of our suggestions and ideas put in

I have'nt finished digesting it all, but

THANKS GUYS YOU'RE THE BEST!

So playing recently at our LGS, my daughter brought a point. The Lawgiver SE rounds are listed now as 2D. I explained that with all the cahnges, additions and revisions it is quite possible someone accidently changed that instead of a diffent ammo.

Then we looked and all the other ammos and there were no changes, but the Barko Brothers Scenario still has it listed as 3D. She then pointed out that if you guys made tons of additons and changes, whose to say it wasnt dropped on purpose due to them being QUITE powerful.

So are the SE rounds for the Lawgiver now 2D or do they stay at 3D and it was just a mistake?

No, it is just being laid out now!

Im a moron. I was waiting for a link to the new updated rulebook to be posted, rather than just clicking on the main site page. I didnt realise that it had gone up already a couple of weeks ago.

The Lawgiver SE rounds were changed to 2D in the last update. The Lawgiver in the Barko Bros scenario remained 3D in the that rulebook too.

I dont speak in an official capacity on this of course, but it was changed following feedback IIRC so I reckon that the 3D Lawgiver in the Barko scenario is the typo.

3D SE rounds were a bit too good I think, plus they rendered many of the specialist rounds redundant.

Belated thanks for the updated rulebook guys. I will be going through my printout with a highlighter during tomorrows tea break :)
