Kralorelan Magic/Martial Arts anyone?

One of my players is now running a wandering mystic from Kralorela seeking out Draconic and Mystic secrets of the west. However there's next to diddly in the official source material about the martial arts and magic systems which seem to be at the core of these characters. A vague mention of some ideas and that's about it. We'll work through it fine I'm sure but I'm guessing someone must have come up against this problem before as I'm sure I've seen some previous thread about this.

I was thinking fighting schools (School of the Insects, School of the Serpent, School of the Dragon etc) with philosophies tied in some abstract way to a group of inspiring creatures. Each School is associated with a particular cultural stream/region within Kralorela and has a few associated styles (e.g. Mantis, Wasp, Butterfly for Bug School). Each style may be unarmed or armed with a few select 'oriental' weapons, have one or two special combat manouevres favoured by or available exclusively to the school, and the ability to manifest 2 or 3 'draconic' magic style powers (And possibly a favoured Heroic Ability (Costing Magic Points perhaps?). Anyway fingers crossed someone out there's made some progress. If not I'll try to find time to post something if we ever find the time to work it all out!

Here are a couple links of websites I found useful.

I've also some material from the seemingly now defunct Blue Sable website which did an incredible job on the subject. PM me if you're interested in a copy.

Does anyone have a copy of Sandy Petersen's old mysticism rules? Perhaps you can get ideas from those.

It may be that some of Sandy's "Mysticism" rules are incorporated in a PDF document found on the BRP website. It's a very "meaty" document that deals with martial arts in great depth.

To find it, just do a Google search using the key words "kralorelan martial arts schools". On my PC, a link to the PDF appears at the bottom of the search results.

Edit: Correction..Sandy's rules definitely are in the PDF document, along with the martial arts material from the Blue Sable website. Well worth downloading.

Big thanks to SSWarlock. Just the kind of thing I was looking for, It really helps to fill in the Kralorelan background and is heartily recommended for anyone else trying to do the same. Thanks.

You're quite welcome, Richard. :D

For anyone who doesn't want to have to dig through the BRP website for the pdf download, here's the direct link.

The Dragon Lines supplement for BRP (very much compatible with MRQII) could prove useful:
