Klikkitaks vs. GEG

You can put 3 on the stem, so that's how many Klikkitaks can ram the White Star. You can put a good deal more than 3 within 2", which is where Klikkitas need to be to fire their weapons.

And if you want a Raider or League ship in a non-campaign game, just declare that your fleet is League, not pure Gaim. :)

Right answer, but wrong reason. You can ram with 3 because the WS's damage score is 10, divided by 10 is 1, plus 2 is 3.

OK, to be picky that's the reason why you can put 3 on a stem. :) It may be physically possible to put more than 3 models or counters in contact, but that's how many are allowed to be counted as being in stem contact for the purposes of ramming.

Going the other way, you'd be allowed 16 Klikkitaks in contact with an Explorer's stem. It might be physically impossible to get 6 Klikkitak stands in contact with the Explorer model's stem but you'd probably be allowed to put them as close as possible and have 16 attacks.

That is a good point about the Explorer, but most people would allow you to either stack suicide fighters or simply remove them as they make contact.

It depends on which rule you want to break - the one about needing to be in contact with the stem to ram, the one about no overlapping, or the one about antifighter getting a shot at the kamikazes. A White Star probably won't be too concerned about the antifighter but an Explorer certainly will be. ;) Otherwise, if the Gaim player doesn't mind banging his fighter models together (or if they're paper counters) then there's no harm in waiving the rule against stacking.

For future reference - would be simpler if the Ramming Manouvre (or similar) had a range; "if you are within X inches of the stem you can make a ramming/boarding manouvre in the fighter attack phase"......

When Playing with models I suggest glueing a counter to the bottom of the miniature so that (and weapons arcs) are clear. I also suggest clipping the sticky part of the post it note and noting name, crew quality and variant

e.g.
"Iwo Jima, Hyperion Assault, CQ4"
"Ponto Milvio, Hyperion Cruiser, CQ3"
"Hasdrubal Barca, Hyperion Command CQ5"

This also makes fighter stacking clear. Remember the second row of fighters on the side are 1 1/2" away from the centre dot of the ship with an inch wide counter. They are, apparently, not in stem contact, but can be hit by AF.
