kindle versions of Mongoose Books?

I was wondering is there was any chance I could purchase kindle versions of the various mongoose rpg's?

Single column, simple graphics, formated to be easy to read/use during a game session. Pdf's are nice but they tend to be too big, too glossy and too slow to use on most ereaders.

I think it would be impossible to read an RPG book on such a small screen as the Kindle- you'd be constantly flicking pages back and forth to read long paragraphs. Also you'd lose many of the larger tables.

Mongoose PDF's on an Ipad screen work well though.

Traveller pdf's are not too bad, but, having to scroll up and down for different columns is a pain.

If the traveller pdfs where formated for the small LBB size vs the 8.5x11 size, it would be better.

For the other pdfs, drop the colour down to 16 shades of grey or better yet, line art and they would be fine.

I find the size of the kindle to be great for gaming and finding what you need on it is quite easy.

It was cheap enough for me to buy two of them and now I am looking at trying to put my entire rpg library onto the kindle.

The PDFs display fine on my Kindle, but I've got the 9.7" screen (it's about the size of an A4 book). I'd also like to see books in the Kindle format. However, I don't think the tables would convert very well. The format is very good for text, but not so good where advanced formatting or graphics are concerned.

By the way, just how well do gaming pdf's showcase on the Kindle? Is it a pain to read them or is it enjoyable? Which would you recommend for reading rpg pdfs, a kindle or an ipad?

definately the Ipad. Kindle is fine is all you are doing is paging forwards and backwords, but searching things (or god forbid going to a page number as the kindle lacks a numeric key pad) is a lot trickier.

On the more advanced PDF's, everything is hyperlinked together and comes out wonderfully on the Ipad.

Actually, I have to disagree on this - I have gamed with the Ipad and with the kindle.

I can search with the kindle, jump from indexes etc with the kindle but that is as long as the document is in kindle format. The tables are legible and clear as long as they are formated up for the kindle.

Btw, kindle format is html with some layout guides/restrictions.
I have 30% of my Traveller core book converted now.

The difficulty is not in formating, but in extracting the data correctly from the pdf's.

If anyone has a good lead on pdf conversion software, I would appreciate it as most of the stuff I have tried promises the moon and provides feces.

I'd recommend a Nook. They can read PDFs and you can load them from a flash drive, thus making use of the PDFs that you have already purchased.

Downlaoded a game called Endgame:Aftermath from smashwords; took a PDF version and printed the bits I needed (It's organized that way). Not sure about using any eReader for a RPG but this one seems like it could be. It's a fantasy RPG with twists - you create the Character In Game for a start; I like that a lot. Not for everyone as a lot of "on the fly" decisions needed by the Referee but I liked it a lot.
