I had not planned on publicizing the accident here. Matthew has known about it since Friday. It has been out on ADB's BBS, FC Forum, and page on Facebook. I thought most of our customers would know it already.
However, since it has announced, here is the situation.
Steve's tibia has been broken and he is in a huge amount of pain. He cannot be left by himself at this point. He cannot get to a computer and has no access to the Internet. Getting into Leanna's minivan causes him to experience excruciating pain, even with high-powered painkillers.
Leanna, his wife, is handling doctor visits as well as assisting Steve with daily things. His left foot is not supposed to touch the floor for at least three weeks. His home is older and certainly not set up for wheelchairs and such. It takes Leanna over 30 minutes to get to work, so she cannot just "pop in" and do orders.
She's very upset that our customers are getting less than the excellent turnaround time that we are used to providing them.
I suppose as we all age, our problems may seem more and more like a soap opera.

Yet, what happened to Steve is real, is painful, and is upsetting and stressing him. Leanna is worried about Steve and upset because she cannot come in and work on orders. While she hopes she can get in to work on Tuesday, much depends on the state of Steve's health and ability to be alone without any help in case of an emergency. For us at ADB, family comes first.
Please remember we are a small company with only three full-time employees and two part-time ones. I'm currently a volunteer and far away from Amarillo, so I cannot assist Leanna in this case. We deliberately made our financial information not accessible off the site so as to keep it more secure. Steven Petrick has never been trained on the new software and it is of sufficient complexity that if you don't do it frequently, mistakes will be made. We don't like making mistakes with our customers' orders or money. Therefore Leanna is the only one currently who can work with the system. Once I am there in May, I hope to be trained on it and to do the orders one day a week to keep my hands and knowledge up-to-date.
I will be sure to convey any well wishes to Steve when I call him.
I will add this site to the places that get updated with Steve's status.
