Just a random thought

And just imagine the reaction when a delivery arrives early and they try to delay accepting it to avoid paying the extra charge...

Then discover they had just been blacklisted by the only delivery driver who actually does deliver early with the rest you're lucky if they either deliver on time or even deliver at all.

Another interesting detail courtesy of the Vatta's War series!

Science fiction celebrated its 200th anniversary yesterday.

June 21st, 1816, was the day Mary Shelley graced the world with the story of Frankenstein;

Wouldn't that be the Somnium by Kepler - 400 years ago?
My word, there's a thought. :D
In case anyone's wondering what made Matthew and me smile, Somnium ("The Dream") is one of the oldest stories to, as msprange said, lay claim to being a science fiction novel. It involves spaceflight, exploration of an alien world and discovery.

And it was written in Latin, 400 years ago, by no less than astronomy's own Johannes Kepler.

Here's more information on The Somnium Project.

Anyone want to stat up this spacecraft?

A Virginian soldier survived travelling to Mars by means of astral projection inside a cave ...

John Carter of Mars... still haven't watched that movie properly!

How long before a manned mission to Mars might be achievable?

What if there is evidence of alien life out there, what reasons you'd consider reasonable for not disclosing this?

EU Referendum in the UK today got me thinking what if your world was being used as a refugee camp and evidence suggested everyone was heading for your system because it was safely located on the other side of a wormhole (think Hub Sub-sector in the Clement Sector before the Conduit collapsed).

Now what situations might cause someone(s) to deliberately collapse that wormhole to protect their home from the overwhelming influx of refugees and the belief whatever they were running from would be coming after them next?

Then what if someone on the Earth side of that wormhole deliberately collapsed that wormhole but didn't leave any clue as to why they did it?

How would you handle a setting where it starts off with the revelation they're now cut off from their true home world and there are masses of refugees seeking a new home and some form of stability?

Ooo, this is very, very close to the plot line of the campaign that has been done for the Starter Box Set...

We've come a long way from the original idea, Trotter's Independent Refined Fuels Ltd.

Oh I was wondering how you'd run a version of the Green, Green Grass from Home maybe they're scarlet or teal instead?

Planned on buying this anyway, but it will be interesting to find out how close that was! 8)
