I only recently started to learn and play Traveller, so I may have missed some rule in regards jumping.
As I understand it, a long jump is an Average difficulty using Athletics and either Str or Dex. The effect of the roll, is the number of meters covered.
So an average person, with Athletics 0 and average stats would need to roll a 9 or above to cover any distance what so ever, and a 2 to 8 would mean .... a failure to jump at all ??
It seems weird that more often than not an average person couldnt clear any distance what so ever. I was wondering if it would be better to reduce the difficulty to Easy .. that way with a +4 and an average roll a person would clear 2 to 3 meters.
Or did I miss something in regards jumping ?
Thank you for any help / advice.
