Judge Dredd, support for playing Criminals?

Hey, I have a question regarding the Traveller Judge Dredd rpg.

I know the core book is all about playing Judges, but is their a sourcebook that allows me to play mutants or criminals within mega city one? With full rules for creating characters to tips on how to run games?

If not, is their any possibility of one being released in the near future?

A definitive answer would be greatly appreciated, since it'll decide if I'll buy this line or not. =)

AFAIK, there is no JD sourcebook for playing Perps or Muties. But, I've been thinking about the subject the last couple of days and I suppose you could make a Perp using the regular Citizen template out of the Traveller book. I would say the same would be possible with a mutie character.

Again, AFAIK there is no current plan for such an offical book.

Well, it saves me money. I won't buy into the line until they support different games than playing Judges in the setting. I doubt they'll make more books for the line, but I'll check now and then. =)

Some of the Traveller books such as ones on Scoundrels and Dilettantes are useful. Likewise the old Mongoose D20 material has useful Prestige classes and sections on citizens and perps that might prove useful..especially the corerule book and the Rookies Guide to Criminal Organisations.

I have done quite a bit of ground work for generating Mega City One and Cursed Earth characters for my own JD/Traveller campaigns , though I have no idea if these will ever see print.

When running campaigns I decided that Mega City One was a very difficult place to run campaigns for none-Judicial characters, the Cursed Earth and other Mega Cities being preferable.Havuing said that, the current Mega City One is currently in such a mess after the Day of Chaos incident that Perp based campaigns might be run more feasably ?

I'm not to beholden to canon myself. So running campaign where the players are criminals or terrorists should be fine.

Any chance you could post the work you've done on making criminal and Cursed Earth characters? =)

It is a shame that JD isn't getting the attention it deserves, to be sure. But, you can still use the game pretty much any way you like; it just takes a little tinkering.
