As you know he penned some of the better if not best Conan Pastiches. I just got his book SPQR #1(Senate Populus Que Romanum) about the young Roman Hercule Poirot, Decius.
It is very good and the atmosphere he can greate with his words is even bettter than what he did for Conan. I recommend this book (there are 12 in the SPQR series) if you are thinking about a Aquilonian/ Nemedian urban campaign. Howard always seemed to portray Nemedia in an especially Roman light.
