How about Aircraft Combat. Like Gun Combat ?

For laughs I quickly knocked up an F86 (very quick) Text from Wiki

What software are you using for that - or is it just an image template?

The graphics are Illustrator and the image is sketchup/photoshoppery - built the Sabre and got some free cloud art..with some heavy edits... oh and a free render engine.. forget what its called.

I do plan to use it as a template for the 2300 Vehicles books, which I must start soon...though I suspect I will have to have at least 3 different templates

Yup, an old prop driven SeaFury or a Typhoon (I can't remember which) beat a jet Mig in a dogfight in the Korean War by turning inside it.

A friend of mine started out flying P-51's in Korea. He said that if a Mig pilot was brain dead it was possible to shoot them down. Never a Russian pilot though...

Vietnam is really my thing, rather than Korea, I remember from my research years ago that two MiG-17s of the North Vietnamse AF were shot down by 50's era propeller-powered A-1 Skyraiders.... so it happened!

Sure. You can shoot down nearly any fighter aircraft with a .22 cal also. It's just nearly impossible. But, it can happen.

I've just started reading the Idea and like it. I had wanted to run a game years ago set a few years past this around the mid 60s with technology based on the Gemini/MOL/ALMAZ type and early moon bases that fought off alien attacks...like the British TV Series UFO, with the actual tech of the time. There were all these Ideas of Space Planes, Manned orbital (Spy) Labs and the 'Big Gemini' at the time that would have been pretty cool. I'm not sure they could be seen 10 years earlier, but still cool stuff.
