Slightly unusual (and fun) sceanrio
Shadow Omega hidding in reclamation yard with other black ops /Psi corps attacked by the ISA. the terrain was extensive and included about 12 small debris / Asteroid fields (3 with gun turrets in - pre determined)
Sides
4 White Stars, 2 White Star Scouts, 6 Nials and a Leshath
vs
Shadow Omega, Purgatory (Battle level carrier), Pulse hyprion (old guard ship) and 2 Shadow Cloaks plus 3 hidden gun turrets
(I maybe prob needed to loose some/all of the Nials and add a Hermes to balance it a bit more)
We were using the revised white star rules and the high energy turns. If I had remebered I would have tried the new boresight beam SA as the CQ on the Omega was good.
Killed 4 White Stars and lost the Purgatory (I should have CBD it rather than All Stop - silly me), Hyperion guard ship and a Shadowcloak. The ISA player was a first time player with all White Stars and we were using the revised White Star rule.
His beam rolls were horribly bad and his dodge rolls very very good! The HEG (if we were playing meant he could all stop and pivot to stay at 18" and retain dodge which proved useful a few times). He prob used CBD too much bit then it did keep him alive in the thick of the fighting where he likes to play.
The Shadow Omega worked OK I suppose (I used the old version) as he was v scared of its side guns in the confines of the asteroid fields. It did vapourise a crippled White Star with its beam and finished the game with 60 odd damage and crew. A shield would have been immense help as it was geting sniped at by the Lesath and the odd White Star.
The new White Star rule very much encourgaes you to sit at 18" and fire still - in this instance the ISA player was getting close and stuck in but got punished by only have a 1AD beam or interceptable pulsars. Even in the confines of the terrain prob could have sat back and beamed more.......
Hightlight for me when I Killed 8 Nials in one turns dogfighting - lovely - the Shadow Furies and Thuderbolts then caused havoc rest of the game with the WS's
The hidden gun turrets were fun
If I get time I'll do a proper report - although I used my own invented Carrier - A EA Avenger and lots of Shadow Furies would have been similar (+5 Dogfight 8) )
