ISA campaign question

Just a little something that came to my mind recently:

In a campaign, the ISA can use up to one battle point worth of allied ships.

Since they are treated pretty similarly, and most of them are battle prioritym does this mean they can built an allied space station?

Not quite sure here; stations are not ships as such. But I like the idea of an ISA fleet building a second B5 as a base of operation, in honour of...(insert wise words here). I think I´d call it "Alexandria station", or something like that... but can it be done?

dont see why not. and now with havign ISA skirmish and patrol ships its not like you need allies for low priority games anymore.

I'd say any race you can buy ships from as well.

That´s what I thought; still it wasn´t quite clear from the rules... but I think I´ll play it that way (time to get that campaign finally running then)

While stations are not 'ships in the true sense, they aren't not 'ships' like 'auxiliary craft'.

Stations are just ships with the Immobile trait and special rules for weapons and such, though Matt did rule that they couldn't be used in Saturday's tourney

well if you could i would have been bringing shadows - shadow cloud in a 5pt raid plus biggest ship? hell i dont need the 5pt raid, that thing can take on a fleet by itself. hit upto 6 targets per turn with all weapons.

Ahh but there are many Armageddon level choices

I'm still debating whether to bring 0, 1 or 2 VCDs

"Hey look, I've invented a new game, Lightning Cannon Tag Team!"

you would still have problems with shadowcloud, that thing is just the nastiest weapon around.
you get a precise 8AD lightning cannon boresighted whilst it gets 4AD of basically the same weapon with longer range and can be fired every turn. plus 8AD of SAP precise TD missiles. and both the above weapons can be fired at upto 6 targets per turn.
i'll take your 3 victories and raise you a shadow cloud ;)

hold on, your allowed one battle point, so you can only get the pre 2259 stats one, but stations cost double, so it would cost two battle pojnts, but you can have 1, or have i got the rules muddled again?

i think you should be able to use the after 2259 version becase the ISA used it during the earth civil war etc, though they werent called the ISA then were they?

The ISA wasn't even formed until after the end of the Earth Civil War.

but they did maintain custody of it until other arrangements could be made.

i know the isa wasn't formed until after the earth civil war, but its roots can be traced back to when baylon 5 declared independance cant it? i'm probably wrong on this point

more importantly was i right about the points or could i get away with having an after 2259 B5?

Well yes, it traces it's heritage back through the Army of Light.

As for the points, I don't know off the top of my head, and I'm too hungry to go and look it up.

the station points, ie battle level are not doubled, the RR cost to buy one is. In a campaign, you cannot start with a station, but you may buy one for doube RR for it's priority. If it is listed as battle, then it is a battle FAP in the game, not 2.

but that will still mean i can't have an after 2259 refit babylon 5, which would be the one to use if ISDs were being used. I would have to use a babylon 5 with the wrong stats. why shouldn't i be allowed to save up my RR points for an after refit b5 which is after all the version that the army of light and later the ISA used (yes i know its not the homeworld of the ISA but they still used it a fair bit)

It's just one of those things, that doesn't work in the game. ISA are only allowed 1 FAP of allies at Battle level, that restriction is there for game balance reasons. So, you can never buy a Sharlin, a Bin'Tak, or post-2259 B5.
