Is there an Army & Marine Table of Organization in MgT?

No problem. At least you know. I asked because TL10 is really early for the IW period in TTL terms. The Terrans went ripping through TLs 9 to 12 in a very short period of time, as we Terrans are wont to do in times of war...

Thanks again GypsyComet for the reminder on the differences between GT and the rest of Travel TLs.

Yep, we Terrans have this nasty habit of building bigger sticks to kick butt when pushed to hard. Of course while we are putting togther the bigger stick we are also using what we have to bloody the other guys nose. This also helps gather intelligence and pull some of the other guys assets from pounding Terran worlds.

Rifle Team: 3 riflemen (privates) and one team leader (sargeant) - all armed with ACRs; one of the riflemen also has an underbarrel RAM grenade launcher.

Machinegun Team: 1 machinegunner (lance corporal, armed with Advanced LMG), 2 assistant machinegunners (privates, armed with ACRs), 1 team leader (corporal, armed with ACR).

Rocket Team: 1 rocket gunner (lance corporal, armed with anti-vehicle rocket launcher), 2 assistant gunners (corporals, armed with ACRs) 1 team leader (corporal, armed with ACR).

APC: a TL10 light wheeled APC (equipped with Advanced MMG) crewed by a driver (corporal, armed with ACR) and gunner (lance corporal, armed with ACR)

Squad: 1 Rifle Team + 1 Machinegun Team + 1 APC. The Rifle Team's leader is also the squad's leader. 10 soldiers and one APC total.

Platoon: 4 Squads + a Command Team composed of a CO (lieutenant), a senior NCO (gunnery sergeant), a medic (lance corporal) and a comm/intel specialist (lance corporal) all armed with ACRs + a command APC (with its own driver and gunner). 46 soldiers and 5 APCs total. The Machinegun Team in one of the Squads is replaced with a Rocket Team.

Body armor is TL8 flack jackets for atmospheric ops or TL9 HEV suits for vacuum ops. Everyone also carries combat knives that could be attached to the rifles as bayonets.

In space ops, the APCs are left in their garages and their crews become small fireteams; the ACRs are replaced with accelerator rifles.

Landing is conducted by the small craft of your choice; you could probably load the whole platoon and vehicles into one large dropship.

If you want MGT stats for the Advanced LMG, Advanced MMG and APC I could make them up and post them too.

Sounds like you have your answer, but just in case, there is an article on the Duke of Regina's 4518th Lift Infantry Regiment in Issue 9 of the JoTAS. That was the issue about the 5th Frontier War. IIRC, there is also a similar article in the Spinward Marches Campaign module.

Hello Golan2072,

Thank you very much for providing me with the Troops, which will be a big help when I get to the design. Are the stats for the weapons in either the Core Rulebook or Mecenary? I've got a hard copy of the core rulebook and the ebook for Mercenary.

Evening krisof65,

Thank you for the JTAS issue number detailing the 4518th Lift Infantry. I don't have Spinward Marches Campaign module, yet.

You're welcome. I found my copy of the Spinward Marches campaign. The book I'm talking about was from CT in 1985 - It details the 154th Battle Rider squadron of the Imperial Navy, and reprints upon the info for the 4518th. I can't tell if it expands upon it or not.

I'll have to check my copies of Far Futures CT reprints to see if the Spinward Marches campaign was included in one of the books. Thank you again for the information kristof65.

One thing that the military has found out is the range of command and control. It was found out the a leader can effectivly command (lead) 4 other soldiers. Anything above this number causes problems with effective battlefield control.

This leads to a fire team of 3 or 4 with a leader. Usually 2 teams for a squad (with squad leader also a team leader). Roughly 4 squads for a platoon. 4 Platoons usually make up a company. These are just rough estimates from my army days. More of an Infantry model. 8)

The stats for the ACR, the rocket launcher, the bayonet and the grenade launcher are in MGT's core book. I'll post my stats for the other weapons and the APC later on.

Evening cbrunish,

Thank you for the information on the Command and Control Structure. Being a sailor I noticed that the Navy had a Army flavor in some aspects which was confirmed on the JTAS boards.

Eveing Golan2072,

Thank you very much for all of the support with the Ground Force troops and equipment. Hopefully my design will do your efforts justice.
