Is there a guideline for ship tonnage to spaces?

Deckplan creation for ships is obviously tied to dtons - was there ever a guideline or a forumla I missed somewhere? Was 1 dton equivalent to 1 square/space which was standard for 1.5 m X 1.5 m X 1.5 M or so?


Anyone have the guideline?

The standard has been 1.5x1.5x3m for deckplans. And the accepted rule is your plans can be within 20% of the tonnage.

For deckplans 1 square = .5 dtons is what is generally used. So 2 squares per dton.

But Mongoose Publishing hasn't published a ship deckplans guidebook.
