Invasion Campaign for Traveller 2300

I purchased the two Invasion Books for Traveler 2300 and I must say that the variety of scenarios are truly impressive. Full blown combat including armored vehicles, spy like infiltration missions, and even a murder mystery that involves a shady brothel. My one and only question is what are the statistics for the Frère-class endurance sled the characters use throughout the campaign. I probably missed it somewhere but wanted to ask.

I don't think it's been described in any of the resources published so far. I'm hoping that it, and the new augments referenced in the Invasion books (such as the Experiential Recorder for Subdermacomps, Face Dance, and Chromatophores) will be described in Building the Frontier when it gets published.

I was thinking the sled stats should be published somewhere because they have a Campaign point system to purchase items and skills throughout the adventure and several of the items you can purchase are specific to the sled.

One of the reasons I think it would have been financially better for Mongoose to sell Colin Dunn's Invasion* as one book is that there was a big fall-off in sales between the two parts. In very round terms it looks like around half of people who bought part 1 didn't buy part 2.

* To distinguish it from the canonical Invasion module written by the late J. Andrew Keith. It needed a different name, but now we need a modifier to distinguish it, like kelvinverse Star Trek vs canon Star Trek.

I read the reviews of part II so have not purchased it yet. I will get it but only to fill up an order to get free p&p on the whole order, with the changes to the release schedule that could be weeks to months away.

As to canon - Mongoose now owns it so like it or not the Colinverse with its politically correct hatred of all things British and progressive recasting is now the canon. I for one will stick with the original and only dip into the new stuff for instances where they offer something I think I can use within the old canon.

I do own Colin Dunn's Invasion part 2, and it's badly written with some good, if inconistent, artwork. My major concern is consistency between works. Colin is not consistent even between his own writings. In this case, the logical progression and timeline are broken and do not flow correctly. You need the original Invasion to correct the changes back and make it hang together.

There is a broader question in culture that has arisen regarding new writers/ owners who do not respect the original. It has collapsed several large francishes recently. 2300AD is a microcosm of that, which happily hasn't effected the Traveller Charted Space universe too much. I take the position that you must respect the original and try and build upon what has gone before. Constantly tearing down the foundations of a universe gets us nowhere...
