Interstellar Telepathic Twins

What if there was a pair of identical twins that could communicate telepathically with each other over interstellar distances, lets say up to a distance of 100 parsecs. Lets further suppose that this ability came in the form of two 13 year old girls named Sarah and Ivy, and the PCs discovered this pair of girls at some point in their adventure. Lets suppose these two girls were born with this ability and so far no one else in Charted Space is known to have this ability. How could the PCs take advantage of this?

Well Heinlein used that idea in "Time for the Stars". Tom and Pat were telepath pairs. One stayed on Earth and the other was sent off in a torch ship to look for new real estate. Telepathy does not obey the speed of light, so is instant. This let the results get back to Earth as soon as the explorers discovered something.

For the Empire you have communication that beats the X boat service. Business opportunities must exist, as do military contracts for information gathered and transmitted. If the girls do not mind not being together physically and be on two different planets you could set up a message service, coordinating logistical information and the like.

What if it turned out that the girls were not actually twins but clones, and these two happened to escape from a research facility that is trying to breed humans for long range telepathy. This would introduce a few interesting plot hooks.
