Interesting new name for this forum!

Seems logical for now :)

If the traffic gets too dense, we may separate them out (but then we might have to have a separate Glorantha forum as well, as RuneQuest might start just spreading all over the forums - we'll see!).

Wow that was a bit of a surprise.

I've just spurted coffee about a foot across the living room. Nearly splashed the character sheets I'm preparing for an Elric demo session at Tentacles this weekend.

Oh My. Previews and all.

Goodies. Mmmmm....

So far my one comment is that you need an easier to read small image for the Hawkmoon link at the top of the main page - the one up there know is undecipherable at that size.

EC Persistence and Resilience look pretty meaty.

Oh my. That changes things a bit.

Hmm. So "Joe Average" has a base 51 Persistence and Resilience before any points go in there.

I think negative modifiers for Major Wounds are definately in order now...

Edit: I mean base 61 (!) before points go in those skills.

Ahhh...I see the Conjunction of the Million Spheres is closer than I thought...

This announcement has truly made my day. The previews look great and I can't wait to start playing in the world of the Eternal Champion again. Stormbringer was the first FRPG I ever ran and I had more fun with that than any other game. I think the RQ rules will be perfect for these settings and I love the fact that they're self-contained. Great-looking artwork, too!

Now...back to re-reading Hawkmoon to get in the proper mood...

So it looks like our errata is going to be the Elric book assuming they do iron out the glitches. I'm really looking forward to this

High, innit? A starting max of 76 (!!) before points and before any racial bonuses (Melnibonean CHA+POW, anyone?).

It would be illuminating to hear the thinking behind this, as it's quite a radical shift. Wonder what SpaceQuest ("can be considered MRQ II") will do?

Talking of which...those 'two new attributes' Matt teased us with a while back. Fate and Focus Points? (Rep's on there too, but that's a RQC artefact.) Have Hero Points been split into two functions?

In other views, the previews look great!

Adventurers in both Tragic Millenium Europe and the YK face dangers a lot tougher than you'd find in somewhere like Glorantha. Both are far more volatile worlds. However, advancing in both is handled much differently. And sure, you can whack a load of points into Res and Per to hoik them up, but it'll be at the expense of something else, so you have to weight your options carefully.

It's not really. Because the rules are self contained it gave us the opportunity to do some tweaking and correct some discrepancies, but its not an errata or major overhaul.

The RQ GMs' Guide will include a much more detailed review of combat.

I'd wager Focus Points replace Magic Points for some reason, as I did not see that attribute listed on the character sheet. Could be wrong, though...

Oh, Magic Points are used in Elric. Very much so. Hawkmoon has some different mechanisms.

well, in Glorantha, its common to take hostages. In the young kingdoms or tragic millenium earth, its common to slay everything in sight :)

...and steal their souls...

Ah, excellent. Good to know, thank you, sir! So what are Focus Points? Hmmm....Can't wait to dig into the book!

They measure how much your character enjoys lengthy progressive rock music with yodelling solos performed by Dutch bands from the 60s... :D
