Cosmic Mongoose
<I’ve developed this part as it isn’t clear how testing and the career relate to one another I’ve worked on the assumption that the Wild talent hasn’t had contact with an institute, wheras the Adept and warrior must.>
Entry into the careers other than wild talent generally require contact with an institute for testing before entry.
Skills and training as a Psionicist.
Career generation of skills is slightly different from other careers. An adept or Psi-Warrior may only gain skill levels in a Psionic skill identified during previous training/testing at an institute. If the discipline is not one the character possesses, then the result of the roll is read from the service skills table. For instance, the Adept Karnack the mystical has tested as having Telepathy ,Awareness and Teleportation. For a skill roll on the Service skill table he rolls a 1, Telepathy . His telepathy is increased by one level. If he rolled a 3, telekinesis, as he does not posess TK he would read the roll on the service skills table, in this case gaining Language.
For basic training , he would consult the specialist table, but ignore disciplines/skills he does not possess: in this case he would gain Telepaty -0 , Awareness -0, Medic -0, persuade -0
And social science -0. He would not gain clairvoyance as he doe not possess tthat discipline.
A wild talent, however may gain access to disiplines only from the career. Each time he rolls a Psionic skill, he gains that discipline, and skill level 0. Further increases are as normal for careers. Thus, the untrained wild talent “Suke Landwalker” gains TP and TK at 0 in basic. Further disciplines are gained as per rolls.
