of course there is no reason why they wouldn't have just 3. the UK only has 3 carriers, and will eventually only have 2. (unless you insist on calling HMS ocean a carrier, some people do)
it is after all a flag ship, and would usually be part of a major battlegroup, so you wound't expect many, especially in a declining power. ;-)

The Centauri may be a declining power but they have 12 star systems to cover, not quite the same as the RN

The fleets in B5 are much bigger in number than current navies. It's obvious from the show that the Omega class numbers into the hundred+ range for instance
I far bit less after the Drakh attack. Think in the Crusade series they mentioned how many destroyers they lost or did i read in the fluff somewhere. Guess someone will know?

the Corumai was made during the dilgar war and rushed into service, getting blown up along the way as it was unfinished (think that is AOG fluff) the Avioki came from the lessons learnt fromthe Corumai (I think)

going by AOG fluff the first Avoki was produced in 2204 with a weapons upgrade in 2250 ( info curtesy of AOG Ships Of The Fleet, 2nd edition ).

though i see MGP has changed the Avokis in service date to much later... bummer.

Dunno but they had 36 Omega's for Clark in civil war left around Mars. Assuming that's all loyal Omega's left and assuming that say only 3/4 as much were in Sheridan's side(they probably had quite a few) and accounting for casualties during civil war something like 100+ could be feasible.

200+ would mean either horrendous casualties during civil war or that Sheridan's Omega's outnumbered Clark's forces BIG time...

"What makes a man turn neutral? Lust for gold? Power? Or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality?"

probably more along the lines of "This guys an arse but I'm not sure this other guy can win, i Know if I sit on the fence neither can really get me!"

all I wanted was to quote the mighty Zapp Brannigan, but now people explain neutrality to me!

The SFOS Avioki is the upgraded ship, the original would be far less capable. Think it had hardly any secondary weapons and probably a weaker hull from the fluff I've read. Would be nice if the V2 lists included the older one for Dilgar War scenarios and such. Although I noticed that the S+P Dilgar War scenarios used the current one.
