Simplest answer, as with virtually all RPGs, is you don't need anything more except your imagination. The core rulebook really does give you all you need to run the game. All the other books add is more detail, so that you don't have to make it up yourself.

That said, what other books you need really depends on what sort of game you want to run, want to run a PsiCorp game, then get the excellent PsiCorp book, and similar for any other specific campaign styles. The fact books are handy if you want to weave a campaign in amongst the core B5 story.

Of course, if you can afford it,you could buy all the books and make Mongoose very happy!

I was impressed with the quality of the GM screen. It's big, heavy duty, and has plenty of good info. A worth-while purchase if you ask me. If you're just starting out, I'd say buy the screen and the main book, and then see what your group does. If they start looking for bigger adversaries, grab the Drakh book. If they start asking how much it would cost to build or buy their own ship, grab the ship books. If you spend a lot of time on B5 itself, the station guide is really impressive. Etc, etc etc, same as any system, really.

But basically speaking, the 2e book is all you need. The screen is a nice bonus, but very useful.

no its not tho vorlons are in it

Yeah, Vorlons are quite nicely stated in spite of no Planet killer.

As matter of fact, stating Planet Killer is totally unlikely considering it is impossible for Younger races to blow it up.

I like to think that book as collection of ships you can blow up :D

The only problem I got with it is that there is no Gaim in it

Cheers

Sap.
