I want unpainted plastics!

Don't get me wrong, I'm going to buy the painted versions when they can be had in my area, but I want unpainted plastics also. Why?


Conversion, conversions, conversions. Why pay 4 dollors per model for painted models I intend to cut apart and repaint. Makes sense to me the MP would in the very near future offer unpainted models for that purpose. At least the foot figures.

Please, make it happen, or at least offer them directly.

look at it like this i have 6 boxes of PLA 5 boxes of mea 4 boxes of brits and 5 boxes of usmc (one box converted up) 3 shadows 3 technicals and a total of 9 tanks, all MGP all painted and all ready for gaming with.

the alternative would have been to collect only 2 forces and never get them finished.

i fancided some painting so ive done some conversions for hwwmv's to act as shadows for example.

rather than see it limiting see it as a way of exsploring your limits, maybe this si the first time your have to get out of the comfort zone to do a conversion.

the average comander conversion i used to do for 40k was around £18 for a single fig. the only limit in this game so far is the range of cards and the exsperiance with these minis we have, were all new to converting these, check out my USMC sniper project i did, the painting on the minis was actualy a great help not a hinderance.

Some folks have more time so with cheaper unpainted ones they could get more forces painted and ready to play

How the painted means easier time to convert? I don't see it as limiting(except for the cost. Pricier to get all the parts) but it's not helping either.

well i found my conversions both fun and more intuative to do with painted parts.

just meant ihad to try and blend my paint tinto whatever the manufacturer did.

these have sniper rifles on 2 of the guys with bipods from the saw

here one of the kneelin down guys has had a gun swap.

ive also head twisted them and leg twisted them for different poses, limiting, no, new learning exsperiance YES, time saving ? defiatly, money saving, long term definatly i can see already,a s im noy buying bits i dont need or could never use. ie no bits box addition so helps keeps hobby tidier.

I'm not asking for huge numbers of unpainted. Just small numbers to cut apart, to add to the existing painted forces.

I'm the first person to complain when people talk about buying other companies miniatures on Mongoose's website, but please indulge my hypocracy here. There are plenty of 20-28mm figures out there, in various materials (metal to plastic). Why not use a number of those for conversions?

because those pieces are Heroic 28mm scale, which means they be bulky and muscled out, they wouldnt blend well with MGPs "more realistic" 28mm scale

After playing 40k for donkeys, I'm quite relieved not to have to paint a new army.

I love painting individual character models but it really used to do my nut, having to 50 - 60 minis all in the same colour scheme...hence why my Imperial guard army lies largely unfinished.

That coupled with my responsibilities as a new dad, mean I don't really have the time for army painting anymore.

So thank god for prepainted mini games

But if I were ever to convert any of my minis, then unpainted parts would be nice.

i spose mongoose could do some metal parts for conversions in time, like troopers in soft caps,

thing is for something not needed in huge numbers plastics isnt the way forward, so metal may be the best way to do that.

If anything is gonna happen, its gonna happen after Mongoose see how well the game is selling I would imagine.

There are those out there like yourself Evil, who will convert and create new stuff whether the kit is available from mongoose or not.

lol i get about an hour and a half to do conversions and painting on average.

this prepaint has been a savoir to my hobby.

Presicely. For some the MGP's realistic scale is preferable to the "heroic" oversized models that can hardly be called 28mm...

About time some company decided to reverse the trend or we would soon have 40mm size models called 28mm...
