Man did their lives suck.....

Yeah, they must have really peed off some deity.... but if you are going to take monsters like this into a combat zone.... you are asking for heavy casualties.

You want "outside of the box" engineering.... check out this funky sucker I found researching the M-12

just shows the osprey is nothing new, by about 30 years lol

Helps if it wasn't a giant gyrocopter, Evil

And the Osprey concept goes further than that..think Germans in WW2

americans captured it flew it took it apart, ebuilt it and it never flew again. used to have some pics on it asa child theu painted USAF on the side for its show fight that failed to fully lift from the ground :( shame cuz it would have been awsome.

Germans had alot of inovation.

Try the Wesserflug P.1003/1

Sure, just a concept plane, but the concept was pretty solid.

And why not? It's all well and good to toute soviet engineering, but labling something a tilt rotor when it's not?

I'd love for you to have one of those too.

And a couple of Stinger Teams for myself.

Quite right. The Russians have lost a few over their oversized helicopters in the last years, always with heavy loss of life.
