I am officially now somewhat mollified.

I was told by somebody at Mongoose that the discolouration of the metal was due to the alloy used to make the ship, my 5 motherships range from gold-bronze to black-purple patina over the main hull of the model. The metal is flakey it parts, pitted and warped.

From the posts seen Mongoose have definately inferred that Hiff was getting one of the new models. The second one off the production line, the first going to the painting team. There would not be any of the Mk1 mother ships coming off the production line at all.

Just had a look at the Drakh fleet, when did they change from painting them in wood to using my Tiger Stripe design?

I certainly won't now be doing my next PDF (which was merely waiting for 2nd ed ships) which is unfair on Morgoth too. ]

I can understand your anger at having to wait for more than a year for a ship that should have been finished long ago. I was anticipating your PDF, as the one previous was outstanding. Hopefully time and a shiny new ship will get you to release the write-up. It would be a loss to all on the forum. Maybe we could all start a e-mail campaign to the powers that be in support of Hiff.

so then, I got a package from mongoose today, wheee, could it be, could it be a mothership.... well, yes it was. An old style one.

Thats harsh, espesially given the time you have been kept waiting. Heres hoping its an internal miscommunication, not that they intended to give you an old one all along.

In defence of MGP I have had nothing but good service from them. They replaced my SST rulebook without me having to produce the old one or proof of purchase. My Mongoose Infantry orders have turned up promptly. A flying base was mising with one ship but have loads of those.

Cheers
Mark

On a note, Matt is currently out of office (I know that cause I worte him an email asking where the last part of my ordered stuff got stuck and got an automated 'out of office'-backmail).

well it is the weekend :)

Maybe they've sent Hiff an old one to bid him over until the new sculpts are done and they'll send him one of those?

A well, sort of misshappen.
Ian is out of office organizing June's Conventions, but I think that might fit on Matt, too.

Hi Hiffano,

There is no way you should have been sent that - obviously someone here has got the wrong end of the stick. Drop me a line, and we'll sort things out.

Matt said I would get the second one off the production line.

That second model (the first goes to our resident painter) still has your name on it, Hiff! The wire frame is still being worked on - you have seen the results with the Carrier, the Mothership is following the same design process. It was in the queue in front of the Carrier, but the first (well, second) design was rejected in favour of the design being created now.

I don't want to rush the process, because we want to get it done right rather than merely quickly but, one way or another, we'll make your wait worthwhile.

I really wish people wouldn't fly off the handle at the drop of a hat around here. I can understand being upset over various situations that crop up, but maybe before going on a tirade, you could actually check with the company and see what is up. . . . THEN go on a tirade if they don't fix the problem! :)

Seems to me like Matt & the guys by and large try to do right by their customers. . . and yet it seems their customers don't give them the benefit of the doubt when a mistake gets made.

I know if I were Mongoose having to deal with that on a regular basis would piss me off!

The benefit of the doubt is all well and good, but when there have been as many balls ups as there have been with the Drakh and especially with regards to Hiffs mothership which he paid for before it was even released, extreme annoyance and even anger is totally understandable.

it's good to rant!
Tell you what, when you order something and it takes sooooo long, you can show me the calm collected manner in which you deal with it :-)
I know what you mean, but it came as one heck of a shock when I opened the packet!

Matthew, message received! I'll mail you when I get home. Remember, their was talk of dancing girls...

It must be an interesting experience, come to office after the weekend, turn on your computer, et voilá, the first crisis (with the name "Hiffano" written all over it  ).

But at least you have a good name for your soon-to-arrive MoShip - how does "Hiffano´s Rage" sound? :D

yay! new style drakh ship... eventually ;-)
I'm still miffed at the delay, but as Matt says, if it takes this long to get the best design, then so be it I guess.
